Not too long ago, men’s sandals came in one basic type: flip-flops. Well, times have changed and guys have lots more styles and materials to choose from in their sandals now. When it’s hot and sticky outside, you will want a good pair of comfortable sandals to keep you cool. Many men are still “allergic” to wearing sandals or are self-conscious about their feet not being as perfect as they’d like. Honestly though, no one else really cares, and there are sandals nowadays to suit the style of just about every guy.
Reef makes flip flops, but they are flip-flops on steroids. An amazing array of colors and materials are available. They make some that are subdued and elegant and others that would be at home on a surfboard in Malibu. In addition to flip-flops, there are also slide styles and clog styles to choose from. They make a line of “other” footwear as well, for those times when you have to have a full shoe- like when it’s snowing. Online reviews of all of their sandals are overwhelmingly positive for both comfort and good looks.
Teva makes good looking and rugged styles of sandals in sporty styles. Many of them look like they’d be just as at home climbing a mountain as walking the beach. They have a variety of styles, including fisherman’s sandals (which are a good way for men to ease into sandal mode if they are a little hesitant,) flip-flops, and slides. Teva sandals also get great reviews.
Adidas makes a number of different styles of sandals, including their signature massaging sandal which they call Adissage. They make mostly slide and thong styles and have a high rate of appeal to younger men. These sandals are great for the beach or just kicking around town.
Birkenstock has expanded its line from the original two band slide that’s been made in Germany since 1774. All of their shoes have the same great comfort factors built in and use the finest quality leathers. Birkenstocks are so comfortable because they mold to your foot as you walk, giving you a custom fit. Their sandals are no different!
Sperry Top-Sider has been making high quality boat and deck shoes since 1935, and they’ve now expanded to offer sandals and other styles of shoes. Their sandal line for men includes a good variety of different styles from thongs to slides to fisherman’s sandals and sporty athletic sandals as well. There is something in this lineup that will appeal to any man.
Though Columbia’s sandal offerings for men are limited, they bear mentioning due to the rave reviews they receive. With molded insoles and a very sporty look, their flip flops are casual but far from ordinary. The molded soles contour to your feet and give you a much better feel than standard flat flip flops. If you like your feet to feel coddled by your shoes, these will work well for you.
Hopefully, in looking through all of these brands and great sandals, every non-sandal wearing guy will find a pair he can live with and get out of those sweaty sneakers for summer!
