Geox Shoes Are the Shoes That Breathe
Rumor has it that Mario Moretti Polegato, founder of Geox shoes, got the idea for his “breathing shoes” while out jogging. However, that was not entirely true he actually got the idea while he was out walking in a pair of rubber sole shoes. His feet became over heated, so he decided to cut holes in the soles of his shoes. The holes let the fresh air in and the hot air out. In that single moment, Mario latched onto a concept that was about to revolutionized the shoe industry. He had developed the world’s first “breathable shoe.”
He was so excited about this innovated concept that he went right to work on his idea. He worked in a small workshop in the back of his family owned, small footwear company. Once his breathable, rubber sole technology was developed, he placed a patent on the design. Mario brought his innovative design to a several established footwear manufactures. When he received remarkably little interest, he decided to develop the idea on his own. After they passed the market testing phase, Mario was ready to produce his breathable shoes on a large scale. In the mid 90’s, he started the Geox shoes company. After he improved the original patent, he expanded the line. The Geox group now has footwear and apparel in over 68 counties.
What makes Geox shoes so unique is that each shoes comes with the revolutionary, patented Geox breathes® system. The breathes® system consists of a membrane that allows the insole to absorb sweat while it expels it as a water vapor through the micro-holes in the out-sole. The micro-holes are so small that they let water vapor out, but are too small to allow in any water drops. It has always been the Geox group’s mission to create technological solutions that would ensure breathability in both their footwear and appeal lines.
While Geox shoes, are technologically advanced they are also extremely stylish. Because, no matter how advanced your shoes are if no one wants to wear them they will stay on the store shelves. In their design stage, they stayed true to their Italian roots. They created shoes for every occasion. They have shoes for the casual lifestyle, for special events, or for an evening out on the town. It does not matter what the occasion is they want you to walk in comfort. They believe so strongly in this concept that their brand name comes from the Greek word “geo” which means earth, the same earth that we all walk on. The “x” stands for technology, which covers the technological component.
