Top 5 Reasons to Try Dansko Footwear

The year 1990 was the beginning of the comfortable shoe revolution.  This is the year Dansko started production of their special shoes.  By 1991, they were shipping their revolutionary shoes to retailers so consumers could discover what the words comfortable shoes really means. There are many reasons to try Dansko shoes besides comfort.  The following will cover a few of these reasons as well as a little basic information about what makes these shoes so comfortable and popular.

  • Variety - Dansko clogs, shoes, sandals, boots and heels provide you with the variety you need for every season and outfit.  There is a Dansko style to suit every shoe-wearing consumer from kids to adults.  Dansko keeps up with the ever-changing needs of consumers to offer them the best in man-made, animal-free as well as leather shoes.  They even carry a line of occupational style shoes.
  • Durability – Only the best materials go into making Dansko shoes of all styles.  They are made to last even with daily, extended wear.
  • Selection of Sizes – Not every set of feet is designed to wear cookie-cutter shoes. This is why Dansko offers hard to find sizes so you can find exactly the style of shoe you want without struggling to find your size.
  • Great Styles and Colors – There just isn’t enough room here to describe all the elements of the styles in Dansko shoes, but here are a few of them.  Lace-ups, buckles, stitching, stacked heels, special decorative detailing and other elements make Dansko brand clogs, boots, shoes and sandals stand out from other brands. The color selection is vast and includes colors like black, brown, burgundy, tan and even pink for girls.
  • Designed for Performance – The wider heel, top-notch shock absorption, heel and foot support and innovative soles like the rocker bottom footwear make Dansko brand shoes some of the most innovative in the industry.

Dansko History

Imagine owning a pair of shoes that are as comfortable as they are versatile.  Dansko shoes, clogs, boots and sandals just happen to be beautiful, too.  Dansko was established 17 years ago by a couple who are horse enthusiasts. On a horse-buying trip to Denmark, they saw an unusual pair of closed-back clogs and brought them back to their riding facility. Their students and associates were so enamored with them that the couple returned with suitcases full of clogs on subsequent trips to Denmark. As that became rather cumbersome, and after selling out their inventory from the back of their Volvo, they decided to start their own shoe-making business instead. They started with one employee and she still works for them, along with 129 others.

Danskos, also a wise choice for the medical professional, are either open or closed at the back. The secret to the comfort of Dansko footwear is a contoured foot bed that distributes your weight across the foot, and details such as goring and adjustable ankle straps help to mold the shoe to your foot.  Perhaps you prefer shoes and heels of Mary Janes, pumps, mules, and others that can go from the office straight to dinner and drinks. Cool off with summer sandals that range from flats to 2-3/8″ heels and wedges.

The wide assortment of leathers include oil, waxy, pull-up (most suitable for work environments), patent, crinkled patent, nubuck, nappa or burnished veg. Choose from a color palette that includes pomegranate and toffee chestnut, as well as stylish details like hand-stitching, rings, cut-outs and criss-cross designs.

Dansko’s helpful website has a tab called “Tech Features” that demonstrates how well the shoe is constructed by showing the shoe’s components, the materials used, and the benefits and features of each. You can also view the pictures of the side, top, sole and back of each shoe design you click. The site also offers a store locator of retailers and e-tailers. You can even shop online at their Dansko outlet, where most shoes have only cosmetic flaws. If you’re used to EU sizing, they have that too, as well as information on returns and exchanges, FAQs, a help link and a link to check your shipping status.

When you wear a pair of their shoes, you’ll not only be supporting the environment, you’ll be supporting Dansko’s community efforts as well. Interested in sustainable living, they want to leave the earth a better place, so the company is headquartered in a LEED-certified green building that has a living wall of plant life outside the lobby. And from the Dansko Foundation that was established in 2002 -  to offering their employees paid time off to go out into the community and volunteer – the disadvantaged have benefited, all because of a pair of clogs found in Denmark 17 years ago.

Most Popular Dansko Style

Dansko – The Feel Good Shoes

When you walk around on feet that hurt and toes that are pinched, you just can’t enjoy life. Many people never really have a pair of comfortable shoes to work and play in. They settle for shoes that look good and don’t cost much, and then suffer. Dansko clogs may cost a little more, but they are designed to make walking around and working on your feet a pleasure. No more pinched toes and sore soles with Dansko shoes. These shoes are so comfortable to work and play in that you will want to purchase them for every occasion. Comfortable feet are priceless.

Shoes that have comfortable contoured design help you stand taller and straighter. Because your feet are positioned correctly, your posture is better and all of you feels great. You suffer less foot strain because your arches are properly supported. Dansko shoes are designed by podiatrists who know what it takes to give you better foot health. The experts who designed, and keep improving, these shoes have a lot of education and experience to draw on. They have studied all kinds of feet: women’s, children’s and men’s. They know that each of us has a unique pair of feet with its own needs. They make a lot of sizes and styles of shoes to meet those various needs.

We all feel better when our feet feel good. We can walk further, stand longer and do more things with our lives. Dansko women’s shoes are a little wider than some shoes to give our feet breathing room. The front has a generous area for our toes so they are not pinched. The inner soles are designed to give our feet support, while feeling soft and comfortable. This cuts down of foot stress. The shoes correctly follow the lines of our feet so we don’t get blisters or corns which can be painful.

Along with being well designed for our feet, these shoes are so attractive that our feet look nicer when we wear them, maybe even smaller and better proportioned. Dansko shoes come in sandals and in regular shoe styles so we can wear them year round. There are styles to wear for leisure and styles to wear for work and going to parties. One style you won’t find is spike high heals with narrow pointy toes. They are not good for your feet, so Dansko doesn’t make them. Wearing shoes that are healthy for your feet and attractive to look at is the smart thing to do.
