The Wonderful Selection and Styles of Born Shoes, Boots and Sandals

When you’re out walking, the type of shoes you are wearing make all the difference in the world on whether or not the walk is worthwhile.  If your shoes are uncomfortable, your feet ache and hurt and you realize that you would rather get to your destination any other way but walking.  But, if your shoes are comfortable, you get there seemingly much faster and you are not in pain at all.  Clearly, comfortable shoes are a necessity.

Born shoes have been around for just over ten years bringing casual shoe styles to men and women across America.  Comfort is achieved in a few ways, one of which is Opanka construction.  Opanka construction is the term used to describe how the shoes are sewn together.  In one process, the upper, sock lining, and outsole are sewed together which makes the shoes very flexible and flexibility creates comfort.  The construction of the shoes has expanded over time, but the Opanka construction remains the the basic outline for all construction done.

There are multiple styles, colors, and materials used to make Born shoes, boots and sandals.  For women, there are sandals, heels, flats, clogs, casual shoes, and boots.  There are many new styles that have come out for summer 2009.  For women looking for a sandal with minimal height, there are three new styles that are popular.

The Cuff is a Born sandal that goes up around the ankle, but only has one toe loop for your big toe.  It comes in five different colors so you can have one for every outfit in your closet!  If you’re the type of woman who wants a bit more height, you can choose the Gaga or Finney which are both shoes with a 3 1/2 heel.  They come in brown, black and bordo so they’re perfect for a business environment and match virtually all outfits.  For the bravest of stylish women, there are two other shoes with 3 3/4 heels, the Moony and the Giddy.  Two different styles so that you can show off your feet, but still look professional in the office or casual for a night on the town.

Besides women’s Born shoes, there is a great selection of men’s and kid’s styles as well.  Come into a Born store to check out their new styles for spring and summer as well as to see the great selection of Born children’s shoes.  You will be sure to find something that fits your style and fits your foot wonderfully!
